Let's Not Keep The DL On The RDW...

So...Andy and I went and trained dogs last night...I think I have figured out the RDW mystery :) First off, I have LOTS of good things...lots...I have:

I can turn her off the DW and she handles angled jumps on the left...

And on the right...no issues...GOOD

And DW to weaves, not a problem :) For Lynn anyway...Crackers had some issues with that the other night...

And DW to either ends of tunnels...piece of CAKE...check...
And to the table...lovely!

Now...the problem...and it is one that I am aware is the weakest link...with BOTH dogs and I have heard it from others training the RDW...THIS...

RDW into NOTHING...by FAR has been the hard thing to teach--THE NOTHING is very scary...ya know, like THE NOTHING in The NeverEnding Story. No one knows what it is, but it DESTROYS EVERYTHING IN IT'S PATH....AHHHHHH...we had it taught...but after several months of not regular training on it...this is my artistic rendition of Lynn and Crackers first reaction to DW's into THE NOTHING... Yeah...one to work on. I had it...and now...with both dogs, not very good. They are both HITTING the contacts, but neither dog is driving like they should. It's difficult, there is nothing to focus the dog forward...so it can be a tough thing to work on. If you have a dog that naturally just drives forward, that is GREAT. Lynn is going to be a rockin' Snooker dog...And Crackers is an awesome Snooker dog... Both dogs turn VERY tight, lovely lovely...but...this makes "forward into nothing" a bit more difficult.
So...what to do? I have to brainstorm...the best way I know...
I have a plan...it involves driving...and hoping that the judge doesn't have Lynn and Crackers run their DW's into THE NOTHING for the next few trials until spring hits :) OK..kidding...sort of. :) I need to make the commitment to get them on DW's several times a week...my only option.

Personally I would RATHER do this.

F*CK YOU RUNNING DOG WALK!!!!
But I am stubborn...so it WILL work :) Just need to commit myself to a psychiatric ward, oh whoops! I mean commit myself to the training...sorry...my bad.
I figured SOMETHING would fall down the crapper this winter...so for just the into THE NOTHING situation to go down hill isn't too bad :) Izzzzallgood.

My solution to dogwalk into nothing is this:

RUN REALLY FAST AND THE DOG RUNS REALLY FAST TRYING TO CATCH UP TO ME!

Works great LOL.
