Dear Lord....

Last night after a fun training session with some awesome students...we were just chit chatting about stuff, looking at agility pictures etc etc...

Andy decided to run Crackers since it was getting dark (ok basically dark already)...

He did several dogwalks (running and they looked GREAT) and some jumping etc etc...no biggie.

Then he decided to do a couple of gambles...it was a jump jump to a left turn into the teeter. I didn't know he was working gamble stuff because we never get the chance to work together...but good for him!

Crackers did it beautifully and went to is spot on the teeter...Andy called him off and rewarded him back by the gamble line...

"Andy, go TO him and reward him for his contact...don't release him back to you otherwise he is doing to start coming off when you do gamble stuff".

Andy looked at me, processed the info and nodding his head tried again. This time Crackers hit his contact but then came off towards Andy...

And these words...the words that I hope NEVER EVER again come out of my mouth...just came out...so naturally....

"SEE! Look what you created!"

Just as soon as those words exited my mouth my stomach churned and it felt like I had just hit a brick wall...I HAD BECOME MY FATHER...

Just for a moment in time...just ONE LITTLE MOMENT...but it was there...the words were uttered and I was almost sick...could that be? Could I have JUST said that!?!? Those words that I hated to hear? Words of wisdom that I thought as a young girl were just crap...that my old dear dad was SOOO out of the times, he couldn't possibly know what the world was like...ME, the 16 year old, I knew it all...how could he say this to me?? Yeah...THOSE words.

How could I have become my dad?? Not possible...and yet, the words came out...

Andy didn't even blink, he has been married to me for 6+ years and I guess nothing I say ever surprises him anymore :) Just realized what he had done and went on and fixed it...good for him...

Now I get to wallow in my self pity a bit more and try to never say those words again...I am sure they will crop up...but lets all hope not...shudder

Although now that I am 30 I am realizing my dad was probably one of the smartest people I have ever known :) Amazing how a few years will put things into perspective :) Thanks dad.

That was pretty funny!! Someone at work was just telling me that they caught their daughter telling her DOLL "you better listen to me, and I MEAN IT"...she said the had NO idea that she (the mom) had been saying that, and then she knew she had become her Mother..LOL

My dad is long gone now, but there are still many days when I would love to be able to tell him how right he was! At 16, 20, even 25 you can't see parental wisdom, but as the years move on, it becomes more and more apparent.
