Write it down and THROW IT AWAY...

I was at a Kathy Knox clinic awhile ago and she said something that I had to be reminded of recently (well I guess I kind of reminded myself). In this instance it was in regards to living "in the moment" with a dog. If they are doing as you ask, be happy with them. If they are not, let them know (correct the wrong) and then LET IT GO :) Her exact quote was "write it down and THROW IT AWAY"...

I am good at this with dogs :) I can forgive in half a second and go on like nothing every happened...which is very useful for dog training...

However, when it comes to humans...I am not always as good as I could be. I can linger on things...and I DO forgive, but honestly, I will say I NEVER forget. Obviously I am talking about BIG things, which in my book consist of just a few serious crimes that can be committed in friendship...

When something upsets you LET IT GO...when you hear someone say something nasty about you, LET IT GO...when you hear a lie or gossip about someone, LET IT GO...the person that has hurt you doesn't do it BECAUSE of you, but rather it is a reflection of their own reality. It has NOTHING to do with you...So LET IT GO..so easy to say...so hard to do sometimes :)

I have a VERY close friend, who absolutely cracks me up...she GETS me...I hardly ever get to even have lunch with her or see her or go out etc, yet our friendship is one that I cherish beyond belief--I would do anything for her! When you have a friend like THAT...what more do you need?? :)

A friend sent me this poem and I think it is PERFECT...something to live by...I hope you all enjoy it!

A Motivational Poem
Promise Yourself
By Christian D. Larson
Promise yourself….
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.
I printed this out and hung it in my office...to remind me often of those words :)
Enjoy the people around you, enjoy the happiness in your life and surround yourself with positive things...be grateful for all the amazing people you have in your life, and those that are bringing negativity, anger, and sadness...let it go...
