Christmas....whew!

Well we are back...we spent 6 days in Missouri with the family and what an eventful time!! Andy, myself and all the dogs packed up in the minivan for a fun filled trip.....

First off we had to leave a day early to make sure we didn't hit the ice storm that was going through Iowa...great....we did that. Dodged that one.....
Then we get to the in-laws house and EVERYTHING is a sheet of ice....I mean EVERYTHING...since living in MN we don't get freezing rain...I forgot about that nasty stuff...and I had a pregnant dog who didn't need to fall on the ice (much less the rest of the dogs!). My wonderful hubby managed to scope out a place in the field next to the house that they MIGHT be able to go potty--the dogs were NOT happy and let me know it...going to bed that evening I had visions of this lasting the entire time, the dogs not able to go on their walks, driving us nuts and it being a horrible time...
Luckily the next day things started melting and by Friday it was 60! WOO HOO! Lets not talk about the tornado warnings and watches...
Not to mention at some point Ace had hurt his paw...and through his neurotic licking had managed to get it REALLY infected on our 9 hour drive home---thanks Ace!!!!!!!
So after the vet visit...some antibiotics and soaking..he is better...but he now has an E-collar on his head---serves him right for not leaving it alone! So "Funnel boy" as he is now known probably would not say we had a great time in Missouri. Dork dog...

Gator decided that my father-in-law was the anti-christ (I really do like my FIL)...and was scared to death of him everytime he came in the house..do you have ANY idea how many times a person goes into and out of their house? LOTS...
So after many treats and all that crap...he decided that the FIL would not skin him alive and eat his liver...very odd.
Klink was fine except she fell on the ice the first night after jumping out of the kennel like a bat out of hell...thanks Klink.....
Zip--is pregnant and big and all that. She decided that MUD was her friend and proceeded to try to DIG in every single hole she could find...the time spent cleaning up that goober..well I probably don't want to know. She of course enjoyed the fam....they all love her and she thinks that is great..why we don't love her like THEY do...
Crackers...of course was the hit of the holiday...his cute little self was loved by one and all :)
On the way home we hit an ice storm in Iowa...what is it with Iowa and ice!?!? And ended up staying the night in a hotel.....since the fastest we were going was about 20....and semi's were off in the ditch....etc etc..NOT fun.
This am all was better...and now we are home..safe and sound. It was a good holiday...saw lots of family--but boy is it great to get back home!!!
