It's Real Now :)

The barn has been sort of a dream for me...with Nationals happening, focusing on Andy and the World Team stuff...it was just sitting back there. But now...
It's REAL :) Equipment has been moved in, and I had my first day of teaching in the new barn.

It's GREAT having a place to train right outside of my door. I'll admit, during the summer I get pretty spoiled being able to walk outside and teach...driving was annoying and I'm happy I don't have to anymore :) Plus it gives my students and myself more flexibility for lesson times :)

I'm really happy with how the footing turned out, it's a sand/clay mix. And all the different dogs that ran on it today, NO one slipped, NO one had issues...it packs well, but is still soft....I love it. The students loved it. The dogs loved it.

I'll admit, I'm a footing snob, never have denied that, so I am just very happy that the footing we got passes my tastes :) The dogs all extended and collected with no issues, they run fast on it and I expect it not to take a ton of maintenance :)

Hard to believe I actually have MY OWN BARN...wow...that's all I can say. Sure, I'm going to miss teaching outside for the winter, but I'm happy to teach in the barn :) And it allows for so much more flexibility in training :) Just tonight, the husband and Crackers worked, he got home late, and normally that would mean no training...but instead, he went out and worked just a few minutes. That's going to be so nice :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...Life Is Good :)

That is very cool!!

I don't have anywhere to practice rally after work in winter. Since it is pitch black here. I wish I had a barn! :D
