No...not as in "sexy" hot...as in "sweating profusely while sitting still" hot...I don't believe I've ever seen heat and humidity like this in Minnesota. Missouri? Sure...that's life in Missouri...but Minnesota? Never.
Day 191: Not Gonna Make It...
Poor Vittles...she isn't even hunting right now...
BUT...I refuse to say it's horrible, because it isn't :) We have MONTHS of cold...I'm not going to let one week of high temps get me down! But I have to admit, it is REALLY nice we finally decided to install air conditioning the Friday before the heat wave hit us :)
So we've been doing a lot of laying around inside...this picture sums up our weekend :)
Or in Gator's case, laying ON :)
Still walking the dogs in the mornings...afternoons are just too brutal so instead of walking, we are taking advantage of the pool!
The dogs love the pool...and no...we haven't gotten a platform for them yet...why you ask? Because they would be in the pool CONSTANTLY if we had that. Or I would be calling dogs out of the pool CONSTANTLY...either way, a huge pain in the rear. So right now...we just put them in and out. More control that way right?
This seemed like a win/win situation...until...
Zip and her evil spawn Even decided that climbing the ladder was a no-brainer. Brilliant...well actually, it is brilliant, but not how **I** personally wanted things to go. So now, we have to watch those two very carefully when we let dogs out...they are quite sneaky about tip toeing over there and climbing that damn ladder...then all I hear is a SPLASH!! All hell breaks loose as the rest of the dogs think IT'S POOL TIME!!!!!!
Evil spawn can be annoying sometime. Zip is always annoying...so I expect it from her. But evil spawn...I thought she had missed that gene...seems she got a double copy. Thank God she's cute!
Good thing about pool time?
Tired dogs...
Day 192: And tired husbands... :)
That's Zip sleeping with the husband BTW :)
Off this weekend for 3 days of dog training and working with KK!!! Klink, Even and Lynn are heading to Iowa with me. Donna and Spot are also going and we are riding together. The husband gets the other 4 pups...I'm gonna miss them but I know I'll have a blast!! :)
So be ready for a huge influx of herding photos of dogs you probably won't know...but you MIGHT? You never know! LOL

I was reading the beginning and I thought to myself, "For real, they are not stupid dogs -- They will learn to climb the ladder." Then hahahaha, they did! :o) Smart puppies.
Have fun this weekend! Hope it cools off some by then.
I had the same thoughts as Karissa. Dogs are pretty good at figuring out ladders, esp. with such a great reward at the top! Just be careful that they don't get stuck in there! You don't want any pool disasters.....
