The life of Even Steven...

Even thinks she has gone to hell for the past many months of her life :) I am sure of this...however...she is realizing there MIGHT be a light at the end of the tunnel :)

THIS is currently her life...on leash at all times as she will try to be an idiot if the leash is off. So I take no chances with the 10 grand elbow :) Bionic puppies must do their rehab and not do too much too soon! 7.5 minutes, twice a day...oh joy. She likes her walks, but lets me know that she is NOT done when the timer goes off...sorry pumpkin... We started laser treatments this week, I will be driving 2.5 hours one way, twice a week for these treatments...they better help her :-)
Something that was pointed out to me while all the surgeries etc were going on...Even has some, either brindling or hidden tri sort of color to her....her legs are also like this..I thought it was sun bleaching, but she isn't outside enough..and I looked back and yep, she had this in the winter as well. Guess I never noticed it! You can see it in this photo and the one below...It is on her cheeks and around her mouth...plus on her back legs and under her tail...
She also has a crazy shaved chest...not sure why they didn't just shave the entire chest...but they left a little trail down the middle...as highlighted below...
WTF? Oh well...hair grows back :) Sexy Steven...Sexy...
And of course her shaved shoulders :) And her shaved butt, still not sure why that was needed...But things are progressing. She now has full range of motion in her right elbow. Which is great :) A bit of a limp before I do her exercises, but none after :) She enjoys her exercises, so very happy to be working! But I can tell she misses herding and agility...even walks with the rest of the pack So she lays in the sun...on leash though :) Showing off her shaved spots :)
And super awesome battle scars that make her one badass border collie...
And lays in the sun some more...
It is good having an answer, it is good having my girl back :) Excited for the next several months and what they bring for her!
Even just enjoys every moment...I wish I could be like a dog and be happy all the time!
And a random picture of the Jackhole...lazy piglet...

I have a border collie that severed her digital flexor tendon, she was on crate rest for 2 months and has been in rehab since March....Your dog will be sooooo happy when she gets to do more than walk. Mine is dying to work but it will be several more months before that can occur!

OUCH! WOW...I should stop complaining! How did she manage to do that?

No idea, she was out in the yard with the other dogs just playing around, perfectly clean cut too!

I'm just glad to hear of someone else who is going through the trouble I am! And I too have a 10K dog!

My dog is just now able to run for 20 minutes in straight lines on the flat....let me tell you the joy she gets from that!

Glad she's getting better! I know both of you will be happy when she is fully recovered!

I was feeling bad as my dog is a 6 grand dog and that was 6 years ago. Total hip replacements suck too.
But they are so worth it :-)

I can't even wrap my head around how to keep one quiet. My orthopedic surgery dogs have all been chihuahuas-so it hasn't really been an issue.

Solo has that brindle patch thing going on. His daddy and his grandma have masks-so I am guessing it has something to do with masking rather than the tri gene-because none of his patches are in tri places.

I used to breed ball pythons, so I love learning about color genetics.
