Fix Even...Phase 1 has been accomplished...

Those of you that are friends with me on Facebook know alot of this stuff, but for those who are not (and yes you can be my friend if you wish :) Just look me up!)...I am beginnin "OPERATION FIX EVEN".

Tops recommended I take Even to Dr. Canapp of Veterinary Orthopedic Sports Medicine Group, aka VOSM for you peeps into acronyms :)

http://www.vosm.org/

Dr. Canapp looked at all of Even's stuff, x-rays, files etc etc etc. And his opinion is, she most likely has MSI (another acronym!) Medial Shoulder Instability. Aka rotator cuff in humans.

Surgery--arthroscopic, look at the entire shoulder etc, fix stuff that is broken...rehab for 4 months and many of those months in hobbles made by www.dogleggs.com

Now that I have totally lost it and then regained my composure...all is good, I guess?

So...we are heading to Maryland...in a Toyota Corolla, for 21 hours. One way. Tuesday morning consult and most likely surgery. I am saying most likely as he hasn't had his hands on her yet. But, he is the shoulder guy! The Dr. you want to work on your dogs shoulders...so we venture on!

I am planning on taking some pictures of my trip and keeping people updated as much as I can! Please..think good thoughts for the Steven...and for me to have plenty of alcohol when she goes into surgery Tuesday am.

Sunday the trip begins!!!! And if anyone wants to purchase a piece of my liver, or a kidney...let me know. I need to find the money to pay for this somehow!

Ahh...what we do for our dogs...

Of course we will think good thoughts for Even and for you! I wouldn't want anyone but the best either so thank goodness you're going for a consult with THE vet for shoulder surgeries. And we have a Corolla and it will totally take you safely to MD and back! Good luck and please do keep us posted!

Best of luck. I hope you have found your diagnosis and solution! As the mom of a bilateral TPLO dog I know how frustrating it can be. Hang in there!!
