Welcome Ernie :)

This is Ernie...his mother (or really should I say mother!?!?) gave birth to triplets Monday morning...she was not overly happy about being a new mother...and we were worried she would not take ANY of the three lambs....but then she came around...

Or so we thought....

On Thursday I came into the barn and noticed one of the lambs wasn't looking so hot. Two lambs I had seen nurse, but this one I hadn't (or maybe I had..they are all white!)....

So I marked each lamb with a spot to tell me who was nursing and watched.....2 lambs were nursing..and little Ernie WANTED to nurse, but his mother (still used losely to describe her) smashed him up against the wall...she refused to let him nurse...

We had no other ewes to put him on that would accept him...so the decision was made to take Ernie in. He has decided I am THE GREATEST mother ever and lets me know it everytime I walk into the garage. He is eating well, gaining weight and the evil witch of a ewe is happy she only has 2 babies (lazy butt)...

So here is Ernie---everyone say HI ERNIE!!

HI EVERYBODY--I am Ernie!!!!

NO we are not walking him...just the easiest thing to use to keep the water bucket hung up! It was a LONG day on Thursday OK!!

Klink is very confused as to why there is a lamb in the garage.....can you tell??
Yep--still confused :) And he isn't scared of dogs?!? What kind of honorable sheep would be like THAT??
Ernie will be living in the garage for awhile, so we can monitor him better, and it is much warmer in there. Then hopefully we can let him go back with the herd!!
We are feeling a bit like Dr. Doolittle right now....2 puppies, lambs, dogs, and a freaking baby in our garage...when is life going to get QUIET???? Not for awhile I bet!

HA! see I wasn't so crazy when I asked if they ever had to come in the house? Well garage, but close enough.

He is adorable.

I couldn't even imagine him in the actual HOUSE...he is LOUD!!!

I am glad we have an insulated garage because if we didn't he would probably keep us up with his conversations he has! :)
