Honest!?!?!?!?

I have had an onslaught of people in my life lately that consider themselves to be "honest"---and I have to admit I don't totally agree with them...

I think there is a line that is drawn (at least according to me) where a person goes from being honest and straightforward to being RUDE.

The classic example of a wife asking a husband if she looks fat in a dress...most men would say "of course not"---but these "honest people" would not only tell her "yes, you look fat" but they would continue on with "and your hips look HUGE and I can see your tummy etc etc etc".

THEY think they are being a good person and HONEST...I see them as being rude and not so nice. I am sure there are those that disagree with me, and that is fine...but I do think there is a line that certain people do cross.

There is a place for honesty...there is never a place for rude.

Honest is a good thing, IMO, as long as it's tempered with gentleness and humility... and kindness. Tact, too, what ever happened to tact? Some people hide meanness under the guise of "honesty". Bah. You want I should kick someone in the shins?

PS - my new word verification is "dingloid". Wonder if that's a cross between a dingbat and a hemmhroid? Might be a good word for those "honest" folks.

Tact..perfect. That is the word I was looking for...

I hate when people hide behind something--and use it as an excuse for poor behavior...

Kick away---make some bruises girlfriend! LOL

Dingloid...PERFECT. That would describe them to a T.
