Eye Opening...to say the least...

Breeding this litter has been an eye opening experience for me...from the birth, to watching them grow, and in a short time, saying goodbye to them and hoping they fulfill what their new owners want from them.

But the biggest thing is trying to understand the human aspect of it...finding good homes.

Maybe I am an idiot...but I want as close to perfect of a home as is possible. I want the pup to be loved, worked and given leadership throughout it's life. And about every single day since I had this litter, I open my email to people wanting a pup. So I thought I would put up some of the statements made about puppies from some of the people I have found to not be an "acceptable" home.

I would like to buy your "left over" puppy---hmmmm...like a 2 day old lasagna..nice..
I need one to breed to my aussie female----no comment....shut up Loretta...NO COMMENT
Can you guarantee the pup will have prick ears?----yep...for 10,000 dollars....
I NEED a blue eyed pup--stated like one would say "I need water" after being in the desert for 10 days....
Can you tell this young if they are male or female (2 days after the whelping)...nope...if the air temperature at the time of the whelping was 98 degrees...all are male...if it was 97...all are female...it was 97.5---so I guess they are going to be BOTH!! WOW!!!! Hermaphrodite puppies!
Have the sire or dam ever been in the show ring...YES!! Oh wait...SHOW ring..not SHEDDING ring....nevermind...no.
I would like to buy two--do you give a discount--another no comment...
How much are they? JUST $500...well they can't be THAT nice for that cheap--look at the pedigree darlin'---I can charge you $1500 if that would make you feel like you "got your moneys worth'??
I need one that won't herd cars---well their mother would LIKE to...so I guess it is in the genes--darn. SORRY! Stupid herding instinct...
I want a new stud dog for my backyard breeding operation---OK..so that was not STATED---but when one has 22+ FEMALES of breeding age and puppies on the ground all the time...well forgive me for assuming! Sorry--no thanks.
Well you DO want to sell this pup right?? I mean holding onto him doesn't make any sense---just tell him to the first home you get--no thanks...he is a NICE NICE pup...I can hold onto him for a bit--no biggie!

Amazing really---that I see these statements made...some of them I just laugh at...hysterically--to the point of almost peeing my pants. Some of them make me want to reach through the computer and choke that person.

And yet...there are people who WILL sell to the authors of these statements...all I can say is WOW. Better you than me!

AMAZING..that is all I can say!!!!!

Hi. You are so right! Some people are really weird. This is, why i never could be a breeder...i would never find the right owner for the puppies.
Wish you a good hand.

I have to admit I have been very blessed to have a good group of people for homes...people I really am excited to see these pups grow up with....

Very lucky I think :)

I second that Bordershot...I'd have 6-8 extra dogs in my household if I was a breeder (which is why I will never be one). I'm afraid I would have a hard time trusting the potential owners..

Keep up your standards Loretta! It separates a truly great breeder from the rest. You feel a responsibility to each of these puppies to make sure they have the best life possible. You didn't breed this litter to make money or fill "orders" for blue-eyed ,prick eared, tri, merle flyball champion puppies. You actually did it to improve and protect the breed...what a concept!

Like as said by others keep to your guns:)) These puppies deserve good homes and not all breeders understand that and it is GREAT that you do!!!!
